The ground-floor apartment has nearly step-free access, making it easy and convenient for guests of all ages. The surrounding area is flat and easy to walk, unlike many other parts of Tenerife. From the apartment, you can comfortably explore the local shops, bars and restaurants and coastline and hiking trails on foot.

History and Architecture of Ten-Bel

Casa Primavera is in Frontera Primavera, a popular and well maintained and safe gated community in Costa del Silencio. Designed originally as an apartment hotel by the famous architects Francisco Javier Díaz-Llanos Prion de La Roche and  Vicente Saavedra Martínez in 1974 and recently renovated. Today, majority of the apartments are residential, with some holiday apartments available from owners, like our Casa Primavera.

Did you know? Ten=Tenerife Bel=Belgium, based on the original developer and visionaire who was Belgian. Michael Albert Huygens bought the land in 1963 and after a hugely ambitious, bold and successful build, this was the beginning of mass tourism in the south of Tenerife.

So Ten-Bel, where Frontera Primavera was the central luxury apartment hotel, was the model of what was to come all over Spain and the Meditarrenian. Things have of course changed since then, and the package holidays have gone from the area, so Ten-Bel now has a new lease of life as a renovated community for a mix of local and short-let residents after a rough patch in between.

There is every chance that Frontera Primavera will one day be architecturally protected for it’s pioneering and bold part in the beginning of an industry the Canary Islands economy now relies on.
